So . . . Rysta is introduced to “Splotch” . . . poor Aardrin, he hates that name . . . luckily he doesn’t have it too long. 
And . . . as you can see, Rysta already has the hang of guilting by cute. Grandfather seems highly amused though . . . 
Half of this was sketched at home and half in the car on the way back from vacation . . . can you tell which bits? I’m curious to see if you can tell . . . 
Some really awful panels . . . poor Aardrin’s spots aren’t quite right in that first panel, not sure how I managed that 
And Rysta is looking a little older than 8 in a couple of those panels 
And, I’m sort of happy with the second panel and the “bow”, especially since that was done without reference . . .
Hardest part, aside from shading Aardrin and his damned spots, was the “vision” of human Aardrin that Rysta sees . . . I must have worked on that effect FOREVER to get it to look right . . . I’m still not 100% happy, but I wanted to get this thing DONE! 
That’s 17 year old Aardrin . . . that’s why he looks a little odd . . . I was trying to make him a little more thin and gangly than his 27 year old self 
I’ve never drawn him at that age . . . so it was a little bit of a challenge . . .
